Around the Medicine Wheel: Indigenizing your class planning and your classroom

April 16, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 3:00 pm

Participate in a day of outdoor learning day for culturally relevant, land-based teaching and learn how to indigenize your class plans and classroom. Learn how to use the Medicine Wheel as a template to help ensure that Indigenous Worldview and Perspectives are reflected in all aspects of your teaching. Participants will also explore Core Competencies and how they are embedded in our Traditional Indigenous pedagogy; as well as how to embed them into your classroom and teaching practice.

This workshop will take place outside, within the Redfish Creek Spawning Channel grounds 20 km from Nelson next to Redfish Elementary School. This workshop will be facilitated by Four Nations Coalition of Indigenous Medicine.
