Celebrate World Wetlands Day with us by taking part in a hands-on workshop focused on one of our region’s most distinctive wetland birds—the Wood Duck.
> Register Here <
This free event invites participants to assemble pre-cut Wood Duck nest boxes, which will be installed in suitable wetland and riparian habitats around Kootenay Lake. Wood Ducks rely on tree cavities for nesting, and in many areas these natural sites are limited—nest boxes are a simple, effective way to support local populations.
By the end of the workshop, our group will have helped assemble five (5) Wood Duck nest boxes, supporting healthy wetland ecosystems and biodiversity around Kootenay Lake.
- Meet at the St. Paul’s room of the united church at 11am. Located upstairs and at the back of the church. You can access either from the north office, or from the rear side door.
