FoKLSS is excited to invite you to our next Harrop Wetland Workday happening this Saturday, July 26! We’ll be out at the wetlands from 9:00–11:00 AM, continuing our seasonal management efforts—and we’d love for you to join us.This weekend’s work will include:
- Installing protective fencing around emerging native shrubs
- Removing bull thistle, an aggressive invasive that outcompetes native plants
This is a great opportunity to learn about wetland ecology, connect with neighbours, and help protect an important local habitat. No experience is needed—just a willingness to get involved and get your hands dirty!
We’ll have snacks, bublys, and stickers for everyone that joins.

Meeting location: Harrop Wetlands trailhead – just before Sunshine Bay Riding Club (6369 Erindale Road)

Time: 9 AM – 11 AM

What to bring: Sun protection, hand saw/loppers if possible, water, and snacks.

Dress in layers! It should be nice out, but come prepared for changing conditions.
Let us know if you can make it!
