Once again Friends of Kootenay Lake is raising awareness of pollution on Kootenay Lake by having a Trash to Art competition!
We are encouraging you to get outside and pick up some garbage from around Kootenay Lake and then turn it into art! The art will then be taken to our community outreach events around the lake as a way to create awareness about garbage pollution in the Lake. Community members will vote on their favorite creation and the one with the most votes by the end of the summer will win a $200 cash prize!
This is the second annual Trash to Art competition, the first year was very successful, lots of incredible art was made as well lots of garbage was cleaned up and awareness created.
The rules are as follows:
Submissions must be exclusively comprised of fully recyclable/reusable materials and can include painting, collage, sculpture, drawing, or product design from found objects.
