Wind-down Wine Tour at the Baillie-Grohman Estate Winery Baillie-Grohman Estate Winery proudly honours the name and spirit of one of the region’s most legendary pioneers, William Baillie-Grohman, who had an adventurous nature and love of the wilderness. We are on the edge of an emerging wine-growing area, in a unique microclimate in the Kootenay district of British Columbia. Our approach is to produce small lots of super premium wine in our 5,000 case boutique winery. Everything is done by hand, from the farming to picking and sorting at harvest. Keeping us company and providing the soundtrack in the vineyard are sandpipers, meadowlarks, robins, ring-necked pheasants, crows, swallows, hawks and kestrels. We also get visits from bald eagles from time to time. The tour of the estate winery is one hour long. People are free to bring their own lunch or buy a cheese plate, and enjoy the fruits of the vineyard on the flowery outdoor patio either before or after the tour. When: Sunday, May 15, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
