Martin Carver

Martin is a hydrologist and fluvial geomorphologist with a PhD from the University of British Columbia and 25 years’ experience in water resources, emphasizing hydroelectric, forestry, mining, and oil & gas development in the Columbia, Peace, Athabasca and Liard River systems. Areas of expertise include environmental impact assessment, hydrologic risk analysis, biodiversity conservation, watershed assessment, and climate change adaptation. He is the lead and facilitator of the Upper Columbia Basin Environmental Collaborative. He has worked in Canada, Nepal and Ecuador and is an independent consultant, based in Nelson, BC. Martin has served as the Chair of the Board since 2016.
