Our 2019 AGM Recap!

Our 2019 AGM Recap!

On Monday, June 3rd FoKLSS held our 7th Annual AGM at the beautiful Queens Bay Church (pictured above).

We had about 20 people attend including staff and board members. We all enjoyed delicious muffins from Dominion Cafe and the musical talents of Dawna McLennan, whose harp playing complimented the whimsical style of the church.

Our Program Manager Claire Pollock-Hall presented the projects that have been keeping us busy around the lake for the past year. These have included,

Duck Bay Wetland Restoration Project

Youth Water Festival

Environmental Education Programs

Shore-spawning Kokanee Habitat Restoration Project

Kootenay Lake Annual Summit

The success and impact of these projects reflect the resourcefulness and dedication of our small staff and experienced Board Members.

We also welcomed two new Board Members to our team Rory Gallaugher from Nelson BC and Elizabeth Quinn from Creston BC. Stay tuned to hear more about them and their experience!

We enjoyed the discussion, support, and passion that this meeting elicited in our community members. Thank you to all who gave their time to attend this meeting and to those board members that traveled from far away.
